The University of Hong Kong (HKU) – Dalian Maritime University (DMU) Academic Collaboration Scheme
Objective
Initiated by the HKU and DMU as well as the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the aim of the scheme is to nurture professionals in maritime law by providing common law training to professionals who are well-versed in the Mainland legal system and operating model of the maritime sector. The trained professionals can contribute to the maritime industries of Hong Kong and mainland China as well as enhance the link and development of the maritime sectors in both places.
To sponsor Faculty of Law of both HKU and DMU to organise summer programmes and professional seminars etc.
Target
Students of Faculty of Law at DMU
Students of HKU and in-service practitioners of the maritime sector
Level of subsidy
Each selected law graduate of DMU will be granted HK$201,000 (for 2022/23) to undertake the Master of Common Law Programme at HKU, including all tuition fees and a living allowance of HK$40,000
(Note: Scholarship recipients MUST work full time in the maritime industry in Hong Kong for a period of not less than 12 consecutive months after their graduation.)
Students of Faculty of Law at HKU can undertake summer programmes organised by DMU free of charge. Lecturers of Faculty of Law at DMU would be sponsored to conduct professional seminars in Hong Kong.
