The University of Hong Kong (HKU) – Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) Academic Collaboration Scheme
Objective
Initiated by the HKU and SMU as well as the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the aim of the scheme is to nurture professionals in maritime law by providing common law training to professionals who are well-versed in the Mainland legal system and operating model of the maritime sector. The trained professionals can contribute to the maritime industries of Hong Kong and mainland China as well as enhance the link and development of the maritime sectors in both places.
Target
Students of Faculty of Law at SMU
Level of subsidy
Each selected law graduate of SMU will be granted HK$201,000 (for 2022/23) to undertake the Master of Common Law Programme at HKU, including all tuition fees and a living allowance of HK$40,000
(Note: Scholarship recipients MUST work full time in the maritime industry in Hong Kong for a period not less than 12 consecutive calendar months after their graduation.)
